7 Simple Tips to Make Your Inverter Battery Last Longer

Easy care habits that add years to your tubular battery and keep backup strong.

  1. Use distilled water only. Tap water has minerals that damage plates.
  2. Check the water level every 2–3 months. Top up to the maximum mark, never above it.
  3. Keep it ventilated. Place the battery in an airy spot away from direct sunlight.
  4. Clean the terminals. Wipe off white deposits and apply petroleum jelly.
  5. Do not overload. Running more appliances than planned drains the battery faster.
  6. Use it regularly. If there are no power cuts for weeks, discharge it once a month.
  7. Service your inverter. A faulty inverter can overcharge or undercharge the battery.
